Episode 07 (August 2008)
August 03, 2008 02:25 PM PDT
So far, our scottish summer has been 'patchy' to say the least. As I write this, i'm looking out onto a big black cloud overhead! Luckily for us though, house music hasn't taken the same turn. Shangaling, Down Down Down and Paddys Revenge are just a handful of brilliant tracks on general release over the last month or so that i'd expect to see hammered on numerous compilations on the months to come.

Alrighty, if you hadn't noticed, we've moved from fortnightly releases to monthly. Without repeating any tracks, fortnightly mixes had the chance of becoming flat and stale and it's quality, not quantity that counts!

So, another fortnight gone, another podcast ready to be launched! As usual, it's a highly feel-good, high energy disco/funky house affair, but this week I managed to end with two trancier/progressive tracks i've had on repeat for months! There's been a stack of fantastic new releases over the last couple of weeks (summer's definatly on the way!) and i've included my pick of the bunch in here. There's also been a fair few cheeky remixes done (check out Workidz's My Street Sounds) - and if the quality and quantity of them keeps up, there will be a cheeky bootleg session coming to a podcast near you soon As always, i'm proud of this mix, and hope you enjoy it as much as I had mixing it! Tracklists now included in the podcast, but don't forget to visit http://www.carwashangels.co.uk/ for news/booking info ... and add yourself as a friend/comment at http://carwashangels.podOmatic.com/ and the newly setup bebo page - http://carwashangels.bebo.com/ 01: Samantha James - Rise (Eric Kupper Remix)

It was back in 97/98 I first started getting into house music, spending every last penny I had on vinyl and every minute of every day practicing mixing in my parents garage. Last week I set up my old, nackard Numark's, dusted off some records I'd forgot I owned and fell in love with house music all over again. It was my intention to keep it pre 2002, but I couldn't quite manage a vinyl only set (there's some newer tracks I couldn't leave out - and a few I couldn't get hold of on vinyl). I really hope you all like this set, it's the most enjoyable podcast i've mixed so far! Please remember to spread the word, add yourself as a fan and add comments at http://carwashangels.podOmatic.com/ Tracklist as always on http://www.carwashangels.co.uk/ See y'all again in a couple of weeks! Chris. x

As promised, one DJ set full of electro house that makes campcarwash very happy - very happy indeed! 68 minutes of textbook buildup with a bunch of new tracks and some monsters from the last year or so. It's edgy, beefy, and demands to be listened to loud. To be honest, it'd be rude if you didn't Hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I did recording it, see you all again in a couple of weeks! For tracklisting's, cue files and general news, check http://www.carwashangels.co.uk/ and remember to add yourself as a fan at http://carwashangels.podOmatic.com Thanks, Chris. x

Although it's only mid-March, i've had a sense of summer about me this week. While recording this mix the sun kept streaming in through the windows and I couldn't help but making this second podcast 70 minutes of full on feel good house music. There's been some excellent electro released recently and I had every intention of giving this mix an edgeier feeling, but the powers of disco took over This session includes a new track from Whelan and Di Scala, a cheeky bootleg remix from the Freemasons, a little tribal from Mastiksoul and a couple of acapella's thrown in for good measure! As usual, tracklisting and cue file available at http://www.carwashangels.co.uk/ Enjoy the mix, and see you in a fortnight! Chris. x

The first mix in a long series is always the hardest. You want to capture your audience but you don't want a set full of overplayed anthems. This set has captured exactly how I like to play out, with a good balance of new tracks (The Way), anthems (Be Without You) and classics you forgot existed (Lovin' Is Really My Game). If you ever needed to sum up CarWashAngels in 77 minutes, this would be it. Enjoy, and see you again in a fortnight. Thanks,
